The Debate About; Concealed Carry On College Campus Continues

  • Can college students be trusted to concealed carry in a campus classroom?
  • Would a student with a handgun be effective in stopping an incident?
  • Are people at age 21 mentally mature to have this responsibility?
  • Would you allow your son, or daughter, carry on campus?
  • How do you stop someone from taking lives on campus?

Gun free zones are target rich environment for the depraved. If a student can pass the requirements for a concealed carry permit they should be allowed to carry on campus

Funny; we trust them to fight and die for our country with weapons in their hands. Can we not trust them because they are located on a campus? Ditto for the age 21 question. Anyone trained sufficiently (which is always the caveat in armed citizenry issues) and be effective in stopping an active shooter. I encourage my daughters to carry, especially on campus, since it is up to now a gun-free, active shooter friendly zone.
As to the last question, it depends on who you ask. I opine that a good guy with a gun is how you stop a killer on campus. Most of the academic elites would say that you teach diversity, inclusiveness, acceptance, white privilege, and sing cum buyaa, and hope for the best. (I can’t even spell cum buyaa let alone sing it with feeling!)
